Terraria this house is corrupted
I live in the underground desert and once hardmode started, one of the corruption "slashes" slashed straight through my base. Most of the NPC's were fine, but a few left. After purifying and planting Hallow block throughout my base I got most of the Houses suitable. However, there seems to be a problem. It checks this area and determines if more than 500 blocks are crimson or corrupt. Consider that certain natural blocks don't corrupt (air, mud etc) and you are likely surrounded by other crafted blocks you may not have to worry.

Simply purify the area or build a house away from the corrupted area while it suits the other requirement for it to become suitable.I'm pretty sure Crimson/corruption needs to be a certain distance from housing. Best bet is to usually build up if its gotten that bad. A Home is corrupted based on its "Corruption Rating," which calculates all tiles in a 45-block "radius" around the house; a house's Corruption Rating must be 250 or less. It is harder to tell on smaller resolutions as if it is at all on screen for the max resolution then it will affect the houses there and make them invalid without displaying the "This house is corrupted" message using the ? tool on the ...it needs a four block wide barrier or it can get by. #2. I assumed it's all about the grass, since that seems to be how the Corruption spreads, and other biomes (such as the Underground Jungle) work like that.
